    Adel Chouari representing Tunisia Adel Chouari Executive Committee - Global REPRESENTING: Tunisia National Center for Business Register Adel Chouari serves as the founder and Director General of the Tunisian Business Registry. With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years at the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI). After earning his master’s degree in communication and journalism from the Institute of Press and Information Science (IPSI) in Tunis in 1992, Chouari began his career at INNORPI in 1993. His early roles included serving as a communications officer and subsequently as a project manager for the digitization of invention patent documents. In these capacities, he established the first unit for disseminating information contained in patent documents and founded the Tunisia Academy of Industrial Property. Chouari has pursued extensive training in trademark and patent protection, engaging with prestigious organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich and US Patent and trademark office (USPTO) in Washington. As a project manager, he played a pivotal role in modernizing INNORPI's industrial property information system and spearheaded the institution’s digital transition. In 1996, Chouari was tasked with managing the Central business Registry, overseeing the dissemination of legal and economic information on companies gathered from local business registries at courts. This role provided him with valuable insights into the register’s economic significance and its role in safeguarding third-party rights and enhancing transparency. Driven by a strong belief in the trade registries value, Chouari embarked on a mission to modernize the Tunisian Business registry legislation and IT system. In 2010, he launched the first Tunisian governmental website for accessing to companies’ documents and data. By 2017, as Tunisia classification on the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) grey list, Chouari led a comprehensive overhaul of the legislative and regulatory framework governing the business registry system culminating in the creation of the National Business Register in October 2018 including beneficial owner registry. In 2022, founded the AFREC the Alliance of Business Registries of French speaking countries. CHOUARI is actually Director General of the Tunisian Business Registry and member of the national FATF committee and actively participates in numerous national steering committees dedicated to modernization and the digitalization of the administration and AML-FT issues Previous Comittee Members: Select a Year Notable Alumni

Within the Companies Office, Michael is responsible for the delivery of all New Zealand Companies Office services mainly through electronic systems and the internet for registers relating to Companies, Personal Properties Securities, Superannuation Funds, Incorporated Societies, Building Societies, Charitable Trusts, Unit Trusts, Friendly Societies Motor Vehicles Traders and Credit Unions.
