Hong Kong

The third meeting of the Corporate Registers Forum was hosted by the Companies Registry Hong Kong in Hong Kong on 21 - 24 March 2006.

The Hong Kong forum was based around two themes:

• Compliance and enforcement
• The role of companies registries in promoting economic and business development.

The meeting was attended by fifty-five delegates from twenty jurisdictions. Of particular note was the attendance of seven European jurisdictions along with several Asia-Pacific jurisdictions in attendance for the first time; namely delegations from Brunei, China and Thailand.

Included in the programme for the forum was a visit to the Companies Registry in Hong Kong and the clearing floor of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
